A few days ago, I posted about a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I saw near my office. It looked like a later W140 coupe to me, and as one of you pointed out, the parking sensors wouldn’t have been present in 1993. Well today, I saw the car again, and I wrote down the VIN. It’s actually a 1997 S600 coupe.
I was also killing myself searching the Internet for the corresponding factory color. Well today, I noticed a scrape on the front fender. The car was obviously originally silver, and the metallic red-orange is a respray.
It’s still beautiful and still very cool. I’m just a little bummed that it’s not actually the rare 600SEC.

Not sure why he would bother lying... as if an S600 coupe is somehow not cool?

Dubious car, dubious sale?

Hmm I also just noticed that fake AMG badge too.

(I assume it’s fake...)

Oops, sorry. I ran the plate the day of, it came back as an S600, and I forgot there was a difference.

Some people put AMG rims on their otherwise stock Benz and say, “Well, it’s an AMG now. Better get the badge!”

I see “E350 AMGs” the time... I’m offended because unless you’re a car guy, you don’t really know what AMG means, and if you ARE a car guy, you know it’s fake.
Anyway. Hatred and whatnot.

Exactly I don’t get it. The “regulars” won’t know AMG or RS, only us car guys will know or care.
